Original brown cloth, titled in gilt to upper cover and spine, with pocket on lower board housing a booklet of 10 maps, 9 of which fold-out. 100 titled and numbered bistre stereographic photographs showing a mulititude of scenes and monuments in India with descriptions printed on the verso of each. Stereocards housed inoriginal mock two volume book case, spine with twin gilt lettering and decoration.

The photos carry copyright dates next to their captions on the recto, dated 1903; the descriptive texts on verso copyright dated 1904, the book is dated 1907.
The rectos have a brief caption description of the scene, the verso a full page expanded description, and in the book the descriptions are further expanded to several pages per image.
