LIMITED EDITION. 98/200 LARGE PAPER COPIES. 4to. pp.219. Binding signed L. Broca of full richly gilt black morocco in imitation of the gothic rose window in St. Mark's on both sides. (Binding overall 25.5 x 19 cm.). Frontispiece and 18 further full page illustrations. Some light spotting to contents. A very handsome binding. Engraved bookplate of Alfred Trapnell, small label atrtibuting the binding to L. Broca, London and small round (1203) leather numbering (1203) label.

Lucien Broca (1838-1910) was a French born binder who worked in London from 1875, particularly Soho and Shaftesbury Avenue from 1890 to 1896. Bindings by him are well esteemed and relatively uncommon.
