Publisher: 1849
München: Seb. Minsinger, Stich v.C. Schach. 1849 [but 1852?].

(209 x 224 cm). Hand coloured lithographed map on 10 sheets plus 3 supplementary sheets of mountain profiles, backed onto linen and contained in original brown black and plum marbled paper covered wrappers. Scale of "4000 Klafter = 1 Deutschen Meile"

This map was produced by the Geognostisch-Montanistischen Verein von Tirol und Vorarlberg (founded 1836) under the auspices of Michael Stotter, director of geology and mineralogy at the Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum. The survey of the region commenced in 1840 and continued until 1846. The map bears a printed date of 1849, the year the map was completed, though it would appear to have been published in 1852. The former date also coincides with the foundation of the Geological Survey of Austria.
The only copy on Copac held at the British Library (described as 12 sheets).
