(100 x 83 cm). Original linen-backed colour printed folding map of Central and Southern Africa. The map folds between publisher's grey cloth boards with printed paper label with manuscript title to upper cover and advertisements to inside of upper board and folded end-section showing the area from the southern border of the Central African Republic (Ubangi-Shari) in the north to the Cape Colony in the south and from Cameroon in the west to Kenya in the east. Plans of East London, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Durban, the mouths of the Zambezi, Lourenço Marques and a comparative map of England and Wales inset. Manuscript note in pencil in upper margin 'K/W'. Boards lightly rubbed mostly at head and foot of spine. Map clean and in very good condition.

*The map shows the 'Nyasaland Protectorate' which was established when the 'British Central Africa Protectorate' changed its name in 1907. The Republic of Cameroon is shown as the German colony of 'Kamerun' before its enlargement into part of the French Congo as 'Neukamerun' in 1911 as part of the settlement of the Agadir Crisis as set out in the Treaty of Fez.
