FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (21.5 x 12.5 cm). pp. [iv]+[iii-]xxiii+[1]+554+[6,errata+blanks]. Near contemporary half burgundy morocco over marbled boards, spine with gilt-ruled raised bands and gilt title, brown end-papers. Red sprinkled edges. Some intermittent spotting, mainly to edges and first and last few leaves. Overall a very nice copy.

Thomas Taylor (1758 – 1835) was the first to translate into English the complete works of Aristotle and Plato (1804).
